Land Studio Project Manager

PROJECT MANAGER
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree (Masters preferred); project management experience; active community involvement with an interest in urban issues, art, and design.
• General Role: Serves as LAND studio’s front line for engagement with clients, community members, stakeholders, project partners, and creative professionals. The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of LAND studio’s projects, planning processes, and programs.

Reports to: Project Directors
Annual Salary Range:
$57,000 – $62,000: Early-level PM
$63,000 – $70,000: Mid-level PM
$71,000 – $80,000: Senior-level PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Development
• Ensures that projects and programs are executed with the highest quality results
• Participates in the creation and development of new projects and programs
• Researches new talent and builds relationships with artists, designers, and fabricators to ensure all projects are created to the highest possible standards
• Manages client, partner, and artist relationships around projects, serving as a trusted resource for each
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of fabrication methods and materials to act as a liaison between artists, designers, and builders
• Develops strategies for convening selection committees and juries for project competitions
• Facilitates meetings with project partners and clients, including preparing meeting
agendas/materials and sharing follow-up information
• Creating presentations for projects to share with clients, funders, trustees, and partners
• Engages in the creative processes with artists, designers, and fabricators, including conceptual design and ongoing design development
• Manages the work of and communication among project partners, including artists, design professionals, fabricators and other contractors, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government entities
• Identifies challenges to project completion and proactively recommends solutions, seeks support, and communicates them both internally and externally, as needed
• Develops project-specific calls for artists, requests for proposals or qualifications (RFPs or RFQs), and scope of work documents
• Presents artwork, artists, and projects for approval by city review bodies and other entities as necessary
• Plans and participates in community meetings, project-related events, and other engagement activities related to their projects and, sometimes, broader community efforts
• Assembles and facilitates project-specific advisory groups
• Develops surveys, evaluation tools, and other materials to collect data as necessary for projects and programs
• Develops and maintains project budgets, timelines, and work flow
• Assists with the completion of contracts, vendor payments, invoicing, etc.

Other Duties
• Provides regular updates to LAND studio’s Development & Communications team about project milestones, public relations opportunities, and providing content for web, social media, and any other communications vehicles as requested
• Take photographs of in-progress projects, site visits, and other project activities that can serve as content for Development & Communications team
• Encourages members of project teams to think proactively about opportunities to market LAND studio and how their individual projects can be used to that end, including but not limited to participation in conferences, speaking engagements, professional organizations, etc.
• Strategizes with organizational leadership to identify potential funding sources for specific projects
• Collaborates on research and grant writing for programming and project-based financial support
• Tracks project-related grant milestones, budgets, deadlines and provides up-to-date information to the development team for reporting purposes
• Participates, as requested, in organizational activities and events.
