Verizon supports the CentroVilla25 Project
Cleveland, OH – JUNE 8, 2023 Verizon Communications Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of technology, communications, information, and entertainment products and services, has announced a commitment of $15,000 in funding towards the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development’s Barrio Progreso Program. This significant contribution aligns with Verizon’s initiative, Citizen Verizon, which aims to drive economic, environmental, and social advancement.
The Barrio Progreso Program is a key component of the transformative CentroVilla25 project, which aims to catalyze economic development, promote cultural inclusion, and foster business growth in the vibrant Clark-Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland.
The Director of Community Engagement, Jessica Cohen, expressed her enthusiasm for the funding allocation. “This investment reflects Verizon’s commitment to furthering local conversation about workforce development and digital inclusion,” said Cohen. “It also recognizes the transformative change the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development has been affecting through its programs and services in Cleveland.”
Verizon’s contribution will serve to bolster the local economy by supporting job creation, business development, and the celebration of Latino culture within the region. The CentroVilla25 project is a testament to the tireless work and vision of the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development, a commitment that has now been recognized and supported by Verizon.
